Fern ("we," "us," or "our") is operated by East Grand Labs. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use Fern at fern.tools.

  • Business information: business name, logo, brand color, services, rate card, and payment terms you provide in your brand profile
  • Client inquiry text: the content you paste into Fern to generate a proposal
  • Generated proposals: the AI-generated proposal content, including scope, pricing, and timelines
  • Usage data: basic analytics such as proposal open tracking and interaction timestamps
  • Payment information: billing details processed through Stripe (we do not store your full card number)

How we use your data

  • To generate proposals using your brand profile and client inquiry text
  • To send proposal emails to your clients on your behalf
  • To process subscription payments and manage your account
  • To track proposal opens so you know when a client has viewed your proposal
  • To improve the quality and reliability of the Fern service

Third-party services

Fern relies on the following third-party services to operate. Each processes data only as necessary to provide their specific function:

Data retention

Your data is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all associated data — including your brand profile, proposals, and client inquiry text — will be permanently removed from our systems. We do not retain your data after account deletion.

Security

We take the security of your data seriously. All data is encrypted in transit via HTTPS/TLS. Access to your data is protected by authentication and Supabase row-level security (RLS) policies, meaning your data is only accessible to your account. While no system is 100% secure, we implement industry-standard practices to protect your information.

Cookies

Fern uses essential cookies for authentication and session management. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Your rights

You may access, update, or delete your personal data at any time through your account settings. If you wish to export or fully delete your data, contact us at the email below and we will process your request promptly.
